Lunar Lava Tube

Scientists have found a potential site for a moon colony.

Its a lava tube, a hole in the moon's surface that offers some protection from the inhospitable surface environment.

CNN: Moon hole might be suitable for colony
"Any intact lava tube could serve as a shelter from the severe environment of the lunar surface, with its meteorite impacts, high-energy UV radiation and energetic particles, and extreme diurnal temperature variations."

As I'm reading your comment , it occurs that some SOB out there in banking is probably thinking parceling up the moon and divvying up the plots. I mean who exactly owns the moon anyhow - I'm going to believe its corporate America.

Of course they do, they own the entire Multiverse last time I checked with reality central. I woke up thinking that we now live in the post-New Deal era also known as Wally-world. Here in Wally-world everything we don't really need is cheap and everything we need like good jobs, a clean environment, Health care, are unobtainable.

I wonder where I can go and put my down payment on a sweet little crater on the darkside - something with a view of Mars. Maybe find something I can pick up cheap that's in foreclosure.

Land is cheap on the moon but the cost of the bus ticket to get their is another thing.
