Thanks for this clip Jim. I was 18 years old working for Hanley Sound at the Newport folk fest in '65 and ran a Howlin Wolf workshop. It was a hot afternoon and the band was all in suits and ties, laying down the funk. I didn't know that he was going to crawl out through the audience and roll around on the grass. We needed more mic cord in a hurry. best, Ed
Its easy to see that Howlin' Wolf was the key to a band like the Stones. In my opinion Tom Waits is doing Howlin' Wolf at least with his vocals. He's completely captivating. I don't think anyone has done it, the blues, better since.
