The Market On Friday

At 7:50 a.m. futures are slightly up. I would call this the "Bernanke Bounce." The man is back for another four years.

We are pre- weekend poised. The weekend goes by so quickly. Then the week goes by so quickly. Then....

Nothing like a brisk and quick walk on a freezing cold January morning. As we get older the hamstrings just keep on tightening and tightening.

Regardless, at 8:30 a.m. this very morning the Gov. will release guess-estimate numbers on the fourth quarter GDP. How about that. Now I'm thinking, this may make or break the day even with the Bernanke Bounce.

President Obama is due to unveil a $33 billion package of tax credits on Friday. The plan is part of his vow to spur job creation.
Reuters: Stock futures higher after Microsoft, Amazon results
... one day after Microsoft Corp and Amazon.com Inc reported quarterly results that beat expectations. Microsoft, a Dow component, expects business technology spending to recover in 2010, while Amazon forecast strong 2010 revenue.
