The Market On Tuesday

Good morning. It is 38 degrees, somewhat overcast, and it is windy here in the Upper Hudson Valley. Looks like the temperatures stay in the high 40s this afternoon, but the forecast has the temperatures near 70 degrees on Sunday. The Egyptian hijacking has been resolved, that's good. I was thinking about the Trump contingency of angry white male supporters. It has occurred to me that Trump's presence in the presidential race has created a larger group of angry voters, that would be the majority of GOPers who hate Trump, plus all Democrats who find Trump distasteful in so many ways. So this repeated meme about the angry white Trump supporter needs a little more investigation.

At 9:00 a.m. ET futures are moderately lower and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open lower.

In my opinion it is Janet Yellen's appearance at the Economic Club of New York which will carry a lot of weight later this morning. As we know, when the head of the Fed speaks, investors are focused and intensely listening to her words for hints or signs of things to come.

Investors are also looking ahead to a major speech from Fed chair Janet Yellen, who is scheduled to appear at the Economic Club of New York at 11:30 a.m. ET.
