Bernie's very very wrong. The GOP is anything but a joke. The joke is the rest of us including him the fringe leftist candidate from Vermont. The truth if we on the left dare to face it is this. The GOP holds most of the power in this country from the local level to most of the Statehouses and Governor-ships to both houses of Congress and until recently the Supreme Court. The other Corp. party the Democrats hold the WH barely. They might have the numbers , but they are unable to translate those numbers into anywhere near the power and ability to do things that the GOP has. So, once again as much as I like and respect Senator Sanders he's dead wrong about the GOP being a joke. If they are any kind of joke it's not a very funny one that's for sure.
The GOP has so many different divisions, it's hard to count them all. From neocons to Tea Partiers to Trumpets to evangelicals, they're all over the place. They don't even share the same social and political values. Topping it off, they're in a huge war over who has the power, and on top of that they've created a constituency fed on FOX who are far removed from simple mainstream knowledge and they simultaneously are not even Republicans. How do you reign that in? It reminds me of a person who is so obese that they can't get out of the bed or the room for that matter.
