In reality, if you really look close at what most Republican leaders believe about Abortion he's just voicing what the more extreme opinion and positions of many of them, although they'd NEVER say anything like that in public for exactly the reasons Trump is now finding out.

Trump no doubt was weighing in his mind thinking which group of voters do I magnetize by saying this. He miscalculated big time. It doesn't make any sense owning a slave if you can't whip em.
