Personally, I wonder why there is such a focus on this one tiny country when the world is literally filled with actually tyrannical regimes that are killing and torturing their citizens and their neighbors and yet there seems to be no focus on them at all. I see it as a kind of scapegoating that has its roots in the traditional forms of of anti-semitism as they were practiced in Europe and other parts of the world. It bothers and worries me. Is Israel becoming a kind of Int'l scapegoat for many of these regimes? I mean really who can take the protestations of these countries and movements seriously as regards Israel?

Well the thing that caused a new interest is really the GOP and their man-crush on Netanyahu. He embodies all the things they drool over, tough talk against Iran, shoot first ask questions later. I personally agree, you've got a small population in Israel and Palestine for that matter yet it's been world headlines for as long as I can remember. And I have wondered the same question. From my point of view I see the push to engage Iran in a war from the re-arising neocons many of whom are also tightly linked to rightwing Israeli politics. So I am very interested because I do not want to see an Iran War. At the minimum I want to be informed.
