Third Day Of Gains

Investors saw improving jobless claims numbers and improved sales in large department stores as the reason to send the markets up today.

I can't recall a time in the past 2 years when this type of highly jumpy market movement was so dominant.

Reuters: Wall Street up for third day on data and retail sales
...investors were encouraged to see jobless claims fall and a handful of large retailers report solid sales.

"The data we saw today was better than what we are used to seeing ... it shed a bit of hope..."
