Leak Worries

The good news gleaned from this article is that the well bore is considered to be integral. BP is now suggesting using the "static kill" method again to seal the well. That would be pumping mud AKA heavy drilling fluids to seal off the oil. This sounds similar to a method tried several weeks ago.

McClatchy: Amid leak worries, feds and BP focus on killing Gulf well
Those include methane gas leaking seeping from the ocean floor three kilometers from the well, and bubbles — which had traces of methane — seen escaping near the well. They also appear to have a small leak from a gasket on the capping equipment, Allen said, but do not think it is serious. They have nothing to suggest there's a threat to the well bore...

That's all pray he's right. This whole episode though needs to be seen for what it is. A HUGE metaphor for everything that's wrong with the system of Gov't ( Corporatist) and it's decline under a Crony Capitalist economy. We essentially have no regulation anymore , in fact quite the opposite. The Corps. have capped the Gov't , they've captured all the important agencies and turned then around at us. They are holding all the high places politically and bureaucratically . We are left outside the walls with nothing but shock and awe. It's been a long war ( Class war) they've been fighting against us and they've Won.
