Air Conditioning

I am not a fan of air conditioning, even as the Northeast is hit with a heat wave.

Yes it was hot today. I worked, rested, worked, rested, back and forth like that because it was too hot to work steadily at least for me.

The book is called "Losing Our Cool: Uncomfortable Truths About Our Air-Conditioned World (and Finding New Ways to Get Through the Summer)." and it is reviewed at Salon.

Fascinating information including how air conditioning benefited the GOP. Yes, people decided to populate the South and West which are Red State areas, and air conditioning helped grease the move.

It's an expensive treat, I only utilize if absolutely necessary. I mostly rely on room ceiling fans and the fans in the AC units and an attic exhaust fan. All these and of course living 4 blocks form the Atlantic Ocean keep the need for AC pretty minimal here. That said, I still need to use it if temps. climb over the 90 mark like today. So far this has been an extremely hot summer.
