The Market On Friday

At 8 a.m. futures are ever so slightly up.

CPI data for July is due out at 8:30 a.m. and will set the tone for how the market opens.
The Consumer Price Indexes (CPI) program produces monthly data on changes in the prices paid by urban consumers for a representative basket of goods and services. Bureau of Labor Statistics
A central point to the market's activity is always the price of oil. Oil has again risen in price per barrel.

Reuters: Oil rises towards $71 on confidence for recovery

If the CPI numbers are decent, the chances of another day of gains are reasonable.
