Gallup: Obama 51% - McCain 43%

Certainly we are grateful that the poll is not showing the reverse numbers.

If there is any credibility to the poll then it would be safe to say that the winner is the one who has been ahead all this time and continues to be ahead, Obama. It is approximately 37 hours till the start of voting in New York. Voting begins at 6AM Tuesday.

The larger the win the better. Hopefully it will not boil down to everyone going to sleep Tuesday night and not knowing who has won.

Undoubtedly the attacks will get even stronger in the last hours of the campaign. Palin - McCain have demonstrated they are capable of saying virtually anything. Is this wise, absolutely not. McCain in fact is letting us know exactly what type of individual he is. The tone is being set down for a divisive and confrontational period.

Gallup: Obama Continues to Outpace McCain
Voters' presidential preferences remain favorable to a Barack Obama win on Tuesday, with 51% of traditional likely voters supporting the Democratic nominee for president, and 43% backing John McCain. An additional 1% say they support some other candidate, leaving 5% undecided.
