Saw her do this live in concert a couple of yrs. ago. Rob Hyman of the "Hooters" wrote this song. His band were regulars at my club in the early 80's. I went back stage and said hello to him at the concert. The Hooters did the back up for Cyndi on this number. It brought back lots of great memories.
Very cool. I liked the Hooters and forgot all about them. I like their original version. I will post something of theirs if they have it on youtube.
Cindy Lauper was my favorite over Madonna. Never connected with Madonna though she is clearly the bigger star. Cindy is more more blue collar like me.
I actually met Madonna before she was famous. A good friend of mine lived in the Village in the 70's - 2005 and one time I was visiting with him around 1981 ish and Madonna was a good friend of his and going to school there at the time. We went out for beers to CBGS. She was just some strange looking kid to me at the time.
