I read somewhere that people like the tough talk. I think it goes back to the authoritarian archetype that many seem to hold so dear.
There are a lot of people that want to be put in line, put into a clear place. Its like dogs. Dogs will vie for top dog but once the top dog is established they are content with it. Perfectly fine. A lot of people like their rank.
