Tragedy in the Numbers

Republicans abandoning Bush - NBC/WSJ poll: President’s, Congress’ ratings drop to lowest levels ever

"... Bush’s approval rating is at just 29 percent. It’s a drop of six points since April, and it represents his lowest mark ever on this question in the NBC/Journal poll...Back in April, 75 percent of Republicans approved of Bush’s job performance, compared with 21 percent who disapproved. Now, only 62 percent of Republican approve, versus 32 percent who disapprove."

This poll is indicating that even the primary pillar of Republicans and Conservatives, loyalty, erodes when the leader is decidedly flawed.

I applaud Republicans for recognizing that this president is not good for the country, and that is a mild way of stating the facts.

It is difficult to point to one piece of legislation from this president, that benefits the people of the US. If I had to point to one major issue which this president affects, it would be the over all mood of the country.

People are pessimistic and frightened by this president. The mood of the country is bad. Bush has put a thick layer of rust on the wheels of advancement and progress. There is a sense of casualty, disrepair, abandonment of the people by its leader. The sense of ease is gone. We need much better.

The Republican elite who decided to force this president on the US are the real culprits. Their contempt for democracy, equality, stability, and a fairer distribution of wealth is fundamental to their cause. Bush carries that torch and in so doing has made that elite bunch richer beyond anyones' imagination. The rest of us, the remaining 99.9% have been forced into an atmosphere of fear and diminished expectations.

Its time to get mad, and take back our country. This our country. We are Americans, we are the patriots.
