I had that very system fail badly on a Chrysler Van I own and it took me a few mos. to figure out how to fix it without having to replace the gas tank and the filler plumbing. The dealer wanted to charge me $1750 to fix it I managed to fix it for under $200 once I figured it out with my local mechanic. Wasn't as straight forward as you might imagine. I sent in our fix to Chrysler headqts. They of course never replied.; 4:30 PM
Jim Sande said...: That's a cautionary tale. People get overcharged for all kinds of junk they don't need all that time. Good to hear you saved a lot of bucks and tackled it yourself. I try to do that kind of thing too. I was a carpenter, I can fix a lot of stuff except for the fact that I don't want to do it anymore LOL.; 4:50 PM
Seadog said...: I used to be a half decent car mechanic when I owned Volkswagens. Even took an engine out of one and rebuilt it way back in the day. They were back when you could fix em yourself with tools and a couple jackstands. Nowadays I have no idea whats under the hood mostly a complicated mess of computers and if one goes bad God help you.; 7:32 PM
