The Market On Friday

Good morning. It is 67 degrees and overcast here in the Upper Hudson Valley. Rain is expected again today. We had pretty good storms through the night and everything is still water logged as I look out my window. Looks like we are in for a new drag out conflict with ISIS. It's also time to start paying attention to the group and its intent. The lunacy never seems to end, it only increases.

At 8:45 a.m. ET futures are flat and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open in the flat to lower area.

Investors will be paying close attention this morning to Fed Chair Janet Yellen as she discusses US monetary policies. Just offering my opinion here, but I suspect this could be the most salient news in the investor day ignoring the possibility of a major storm arising somewhere on the globe.

CNN: Stocks: 4 things to know before the open
Investors will be paying close attention to Janet Yellen's 10 a.m. ET speech at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium.
