We can already detect significant sea rise here in S. Jersey. The warming is a very real thing here. Still, because of the nature of it being like background noise, most people miss it entirely and think nothing has changed.
I think I heard him say that if Greenland's ice melted that would change the sea level by 22 feet. They also always point to Miami as being right on the front line of the changes.
Yes, southern Fla. is doomed to become a shallow sea and reef once again like it was 125 K yrs. ago when sea level was about 65 ft. higher in the last inter-glacial warm period called the Eemian era. S. Jersey will also go back under the waves as will large parts of NYC and vicinity.
