The Market On Wednesday

Good morning. It is cloudy and 30 degrees here in Upstate NY. Winter hangs around a bit longer in these parts. I was out walking earlier and I was cold. My face got that winter cold thing all over it.

At 8:30 a.m. futures are flat, the dollar is down, and oil is slightly up.

Investors are nervous about the state of the world. Can you picture it, a roomful of jumpy investors nervous and anxious about what will happen in the world. I should go in and give them a pep talk.

In short today looks like yesterday, except its one day later....

Reuters: Investors remain on edge
...investors remained nervous about the spreading unrest in the Middle East region and Japan's recovery efforts.

"...it's really a lot of the same geopolitical stories we've seen over the past few weeks..."

Investors will get February new home sales figures from the Census Bureau at 10 a.m.

Oil for May delivery, which became the front-month contract Wednesday, gained 43 cents to $105.40 a barrel.
