Misdirection And Lies From The GOP On SSI

What is factually and fundamentally wrong with the article I have linked below "GOP appears poised to take on entitlements."

It is this. Social Security is not an entitlement. Social Security is a savings account that is funded by a separate and exclusive tax on you and me for the sole purpose of creating a fund of money so you can retire with something. Social Security is a mandated savings account held by our Federal Government.

Social Security is not an entitlement. An entitlement would come from the non-exclusive tax called Federal Taxes, controlled by the IRS and the US Treasury. That money is portioned out according to the Democratic will of the people of this country. For example if we wish to have a school lunch program that is funded by the Federal Government, the money to do that program comes from a portion of our Federal Taxes and that would be an entitlement.

Do not allow the GOP and its Tea Bag shadow to tell you otherwise. Social Security is not an entitlement.

Just because the GOP and its Tea Bag shadow are either too stupid to bother to learn or because they are deliberately interested in misleading you, you do not have to buy into their misdirection.

According to these idiots and their Corp. cheer leaders and funding arms SSI and Medicare are welfare that nobody should have. Plus, they claim not a dime of the money needed to fund it going forward exists anyway. In other words ONLY obligations like paying off Treasury Bonds held by mostly the wealthy and Corps. are real debt and anything else is merely a promise they intend to break. The logic here is if it's owed to the top 10% then it's ok, but if it's owed to everyone else it's welfare. This is the self serving nonsense that passes for intellectual recourse on the right these days. The goal since the 30's of the right has been to reverse and destroy every bit of the "New Deal" and they are hell-bent on doing just that ASAP these days. The Dems. seem to be going along for the ride. Nobody it appears is prepared to stop this madness.

We have to tell everybody we know about it. We post it on our blogs, and we have a modest effect. What other action can we do. I read that 80% of the people are opposed to SSI cuts so the majority have to prevail.
