Going After Benefits

The unemployed are the new goats.

We are now witnessing the trivialization of unemployment. The burden is in the hands of the unemployed, even though the jobs are not there and the economy cannot support it.

On second consideration it actually goes beyond this. The unemployed need to be jettisoned because they are burdensome. This is like kicking someone to the ground and then complaining that they are not standing.

CNN: State unemployment benefits in the crosshairs
A growing number of states are looking to cut back on jobless benefits to minimize the increase in unemployment taxes businesses pay. State officials are concerned that these tax hikes could deter companies from hiring.

How ironic. Now the same companies that laid off these folks want to claim giving them benefits is delaying or stopping them from hiring. In Yiddish the word for this kind of BS is chutzpah. It's like killing your parents and then throwing yourself on the mercy of the court because your now an orphan. WTF? The assault on the Middle & working classes continues. These bastards won't be happy till they have slavery back.

You do get that sense, slavery indeed.

The thing that gets me is that there are very crafty people out there pushing these little policy initiatives around. They are savvy. They know how to make it sound appealing and just slightly over the head of the working stiff to give it a ring of authority.

I'm sorry to point this out yet again but the authoritarian personality will always find the weak spot in the culture and then proceed to blame them for societies ills. Weak in the sense that they have little power, no megaphone.
