Around The Globe

Trace amounts of radiation from Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant are turning up in several western American states.

Officials say that the amounts are quite minimal and not anything to worry about. I have an instinctive just wait a second reaction.

I would not be surprised to learn that the radioactive fallout will hit pretty much everywhere. Imagine how much nuclear fallout covered the world during the hay-day of the nuclear bomb testing. If that makes you angry, and it is understandable, consider putting that anger energy to good use working to get nukes scrapped for good.

...miniscule amounts of iodine-131, a radioactive form of iodine...


...in Hawaii...


Washington and California...


There is no need for anyone as a precautionary measure to take potassium iodide...
