I guess there's just not enough stuff going on in the world that needs immediate attention. Now Republicans need to find issues with the 14th amendment.
Oh really? Both my grandparents who were born in the US had foreign born parents and nobody thought it odd back then that my grandparents were Americans by BIRTHRIGHT. It's only now that these thugs think this is a bad idea because the majority of the those being born are to BROWN Latinos. The question of whether these children are Americans or not should center around the status of the parents as legal or illegal visitors. Here up till now we've adhered to the 14th Amendment which gives citizenship to anyone born here regardless of the parents nationality or whether they're here LEGALLY or not. If your NOT here legally some are saying you don't exist as a legal entity and therefore the child is not a LEGAL US citizen. This is NOT how the CONSTITUTION'S 14th Amendment has been interpreted in the past. I believe that we'd need to amend the 14th to change this situation and considering it made all the Slaves legal I doubt that is going to happen any time soon. It would IMO open a can of worms we don't want to revisit.
POLITICAL
The whole issue is just political and works for the GOPERs and their Mad hatters Tea party factions. It's like the court case in NYC trying to stop the Mosque from being built five blocks from the old WTC area of town. It's all political BS for framing this falls GOP as the REAL patriot party etc. for the elections. Disgusting shameless, hypocrites is what they are.
