Skip It

I love these save money articles that are cropping up all over the place. There is a lingering pressure to own and buy everything, accompanied by a lingering sense of guilt for not owning or even being able to own everything. The new meme is to be frugal. It is the era of frugality. Its the new national sport given the seriously weak economy. I have to admit to a sense of pride here, I am good with all of these suggestions...

Water -- Besides the monthly utility bill, there's no reason to shell out $1 for every bottle of water you drink. Bottled water is so last decade anyway. We're over it, and into tap, filters, and reusable water bottles. It's cheaper for you and better for the environment.

Exercise -- Skip the expensive gym memberships. Visit your local park for a walk or run. Do basic push-up and sit-up programs in your living room. Rent a workout DVD from the library. There are many free workout programs you can download online as well.

The gym idea works great 75 % of the yr. it's had though in Jan to March around here. Last winter in Feb. we had 45 " s of snow in 3 weeks! Try running or working out in that for a bit. You can get gym memberships though for half yr. etc. I didn't use my gym membership hardly at all all spring and summer.

I am into walking as my primary aerobic and biking too. Got a weight bench and do yoga. Plus my work is very physical. I used to belong to the Y - I do miss the pool though.
