Sending Some Troops Home From Iraq

We forget that 80,000 troops are in Iraq.

I remember protesting this war at its start in March of 2003. The neocon war of choice was deliberately and falsely linked to 9-11 and along the way a long series of neocon "mis-informations" all fell apart and lost their support. But it was too late, the final and last neocon wish was granted as the US has slogged through this endless war.

On September 1st the US will draw down its forces from 80,000 to 50,000. Its not exactly over and in case you haven't noticed there has been a tremendous amount of violence in Iraq as of late.

CS Monitor: Iraqi forces ready for US pullout, says Army's Odierno
...Iraqi forces have been taking on more responsibility gradually over the past months, and will be ready to take the reins when the US draws down forces at the end of this month, from 80,000 to 50,000 troops.

Last month Odierno told reporters in Baghdad that Kataib Hezbollah, an Iraqi Shiite militant group with ties to Iran, has sought to take credit for the US's departure from Iraq. He said that a large strike on US forces would pay dividends in propaganda for the group – and could be part of revised Iranian plans to destabilize Iraq.
