I spent my University yrs. long ago living in Newport Beach. I was single then but hardly rich. In those days it was a ramshackle beach town today it's filled to over flowing with the McMansions of the rich and in particular the conservative rich. It after all ORANGE COUNTY , CA. Home of Disneyland and Micky is a GOP mouse.
Sounds like it was much more appealing back then. Yes, there are plenty of conservatives in Southern California. I almost made it to UCSD myself.
