Obama's Weekly Address

Reuters: Obama says he'll cut dozens of wasteful programs
Obama said Cabinet officials already had begun cutting back unnecessary expenditures, including a consulting contract to create new seals and logos that cost Department of Homeland Security $3 million since 2003.

The president also commended Defense Secretary Robert Gates' project to reform defense contracting procedures to eliminate what he said were hundreds of billions of dollars in wasteful spending and cost overruns.

Get rid of the awful Fascistic Dept. of Fatherland Security for Christ sakes! End this move toward an Imperial Security State started 40 yrs. ago with Nixon. It seems after Hoover died the GOP decided that someone had to continue his spying on everyone and using it for political blackmail and coercion. It's obvious now that was exactly what BV$H 2 and Lon Cheney were doing. That Obama isn't going to dig up that can of worms or do anything meaningful about the torture that was the BV$H regimes hallmark is regrettable. I'm afraid thjis oversight will come back to haunt all of us when Sarah P. becomes Queen.

I like it, dump homeland security. When I first heard the term, it was right out of the Nazi playbook. Homeland? at least they didn't call it "motherland security", actually with that crowd it would have been "Fatherland."
