Orthodox faiths, all of them have one thing in common a desire to control women's lives, especially their sex and reproductive lives. Women to these sects are seen as cattle @ some level. It's a tribal thing in my view.
I would also say its a tribal thing and maybe worse, its about as close to knocking someone over the head with a club and dragging them off by the hairs.
