A Specter party switch would give Democrats a filibuster-proof Senate majority of 60 seats if Al Franken holds his current lead in the disputed Minnesota Senate race.

Specter is really an (I) like Lieberman in Conn. He's joining the D's because Pa., is increasingly a Dem. state. He's another DINO and probably will side more with the GOP on most issues. He's just facing up to the political reality , that the GOP has no future in the NE in the short term. The GOP is the new party of Secession.
