Hope Hick's Statement on President Trump
"President Trump has a magnetic personality and exudes positive energy, which is infectious to those around him. He has an unparalleled ability to communicate with people, whether he is speaking to a room of three or an arena of 30,000. He has built great relationships throughout his life and treats everyone with respect. He is brilliant with a great sense of humor … and an amazing ability to make people feel special and aspire to be more than even they thought possible."

You just have to smile when you read something like this. I know Orwell would love it.

When I read this, I want to think that within his close associates that he is like this. I want to think this because it would mean that he has a humane side. Why would someone like Hope Hicks write this? She may actually feel that this is how it is. She sees this in Trump and is compelled to let us know about it. Or, she knows it's inaccurate, an exaggeration, and is earning her keep out of business reasons - this is what she is hired to do as it were. The thing of it is, Trump appears to have this habit of needing to call his moves, all of his political moves all of it, as being superlative. The guy likes superlatives, and he likes to say them about himself too - I'm the smartest, I know more than the generals, I'm the healthiest, I do the best deals. In this context the statement loses its affect because Trump has muddied the playing field with a pile of bullshit.
