The Market On Tuesday

Good morning. It is 34 degrees and rainy here in the Upper Hudson Valley, the forecast calls for showers and temperatures in the high 30s this afternoon. I must admit that ever since the election my interest in the news has really dropped. That's probably not the best idea because it is important to stay on top of all the very dramatic changes we will be facing with the Trump Presidency. I'm sure the billionaires of America are in for an extremely great period, poor dears, they've struggled so hard in recent years.

At 9:15 a.m. ET DOW futures are up +132 and the price of oil per barrel has shot up to $54.93. The market is poised to open significantly higher, 20,000 here we come.

The first trading day of 2017 is starting off with a bang. Notice that oil has not hit this price range in over a year and a half. There is the widely held belief that the agreement to cut production will hold. We shall see.

The upbeat mood is being attributed to strong Chinese economic data.
