I read it and found it somewhat silly. John Dean's article in The Atlantic Mag. was better and more realistic. Trumpf is IMO more like Nixon than LBJohnson. Johnson for all his personal flaws was still a man dedicated to Social progress in the US. He destroyed himself on his stubborn refusal to understand the Vietnam war for what it was a Civil War and a Colonial war. He wanted to see it as merely another Cold War battle against the Soviets and it wasn't that simple. Yes, Johnson was arrogant and rude, but not like Trumpf.
I simply enjoyed the title - it's provocative enough for me - doomed indeed. This is open season for journalists, they are trying to identify Trump because he's such an anomaly. It's partly creative and imaginative and a few a taking wild potshots really. Nobody knows what will happen but definitely nothing up to this points bodes well.
