dRumpf is getting the same treatment Bernie got. One big difference is when Bernie was hosting Yuge rallies the media was ignoring him and barely took notice . The reason was to try to contain his candidacy. It worked , by the time Bernie got traction it was too little too late. With DRumpf it was quite the opposite. Now however, he's hit a wall and the media having created this monster is now trying to take him apart. Oh well if you try and live by the Press you can end up dying by it as well. I speak from experience on that note. Messing with the 4th Estate is a very tricky scary move.
I'm not sure I quite understand his present notion of limiting the media power structure. Based on what he has said, it sounds a lot like I'm the boss, write nice stuff about me, or I will banish you. So it sounds like limiting free speech. On the other hand when large media corporations merge, they tend to weaken the pool as it were, like the way Clear Channel has destroyed local radio in much of America. But I suspect Trump is not talking about this latter point. I think he's probably referencing some Breitbart article and simply chirping out some keywords that will get him some applause. The articles I post here are pretty much what I'm reading, and most of these sources were not all that pro-Trump from the start, but they are indeed more anti-Trump now. There are articles at places like the NY Times, Politico, Slate, and such that are critical of Clinton, but who is reading them at this point? So the media I read is indeed more anti-Trump and pro-Clinton.
