NO, he's toast will it narrow HRC's lead , probably since we've seen how the media works in these matters. They want a horse race and up till Comey's timely partisan hackery with this letter it was turning into a landslide and one that might still take the Senate away from the GOP. So, I see this as more an openly political attempt by a very partisan ( GOP GWBV$H appointee) to put his thumb on the scales of this election.
