Climate Central: Weakening Ice Shelves Raise Sea Level Rise Concerns

AGW is going to go on for thousands of years unless we manage to remove the carbon overhang we've put into the system and that might even be too late as we pass tipping pts. in the natural system that allow other non-human related sources of carbon to enter the system. The melting of the Arctic tundra is an example. Sea rise is underway and accelerating, in our children's and grand children's lifetimes the position of the world's coastlines is going to change radically. A rising sea level will become the norm for future generations and they will need to learn how to adapt to it. This isn't something new for humanity. Our pre-civilized ancestors watched the coastlines change over and over again through the ice ages. Once again the ice is melting and the sea is rising. The last major sea rise was 6K yrs. ago. That was called Meltwater pulse 1B we are now witnessing Meltwater pulse 2A , which by the way started 125 yrs. ago and is just now accelerating rapidly.
