The Drought

The 'California' drought is not only about the lack of rain or snow, it's also about the extreme heat and that extreme heat is the result of the global warming trend. As we are doing virtually nothing to decrease the release of CO2 into the atmosphere and we are presently working with a glut of oil and cheaper gas prices, how will the extreme heat as a result of global warming stop? The answer is it will not stop and one would think that a situation of this magnitude would put pause into people's decisions about using carbon based fuels, but it has not.
Who is to blame for this lack of action? Well, people in many cities are rightfully taking to the streets over the unbelievably brutal choking death of Eric Garner, yet society's urgency over global warming is nowhere to be found and yet the threat is to all of us not simply one individual.

Live Science: California's Worst Drought Ever Is 1st Taste of Future by Becky Oskin
There have been three-year periods when less rain and snow fell. But the current drought comes at a time of extreme heat. Record-high temperatures exacerbated the drought, creating the driest soil conditions since the 9th century, according to the study, published Dec. 3 in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.
