You'll notice these test were done in near cloudless conditions. The problem with Laser weapons is fog, clouds, mist & smoke from what I understand, greatly diminish there effectiveness. Unless, this is a newer generation that isn't effected by these elements? Could be, they've been developing these weapons for a very long time.
I guess the more ways one can blow something up the better. My takeaway was how they hit a pinpoint target.
