The Market On Wednesday

Good morning. It is 63 degrees and sunny here in Upstate NY. The forecast is predicting a hot one in the 80s. We had a really good thunderstorm yesterday and my dog did well in the storm, first time she did not cower in the bathroom. My little dog is growing up. We see where the headline is announcing that most believe the American dream is out of reach. I know that readers of this blog are well aware of the trend but it's curious to see that the news is catching up to the main stream.

At 8:15 a.m. ET futures are slightly lower and the price of oil per barrel is up. The market is poised to open flat.

It is being described as a short period of sluggishness until investors get some big news on Thursday and Friday. Thursday it's a monetary policy from the European Central Bank which is the European equivalent to our Fed, and Friday it's the monthly anticipated data on jobs in May. I would not be surprised if today goes the way of Tuesday.

CNN: Stocks: 4 things to know before the open
... a highly-anticipated monetary policy announcement from the European Central Bank on Thursday, and U.S. employment numbers on Friday.
