The Market On Friday

Quarterly results from GE and Citi are driving the market this morning, with futures up. Both companies are reporting better than expected earnings.

Before we get all giddy, First Horizon, the largest bank in Tennessee, is reporting losses for the fourth quarter in a row. Banking has a ways to go, both financially and "morally."

I predicted 3 days of gains for the week. So far we have had 2.5. Even though futures are up, the market could do a u-turn real fast on some other harsh news.

Reuters: Stock futures hit session high after GE, Citi results
S&P 500 stock index futures hit session highs on Friday after General Electric reported better-than-expected earnings and Citigroup shares rose after its results.
