HRC has only herself to blame for losing this fall. It was as it was said her's to lose and she managed it mostly because of her arrogance and her campaign's refusal to see how she could lose. Bernie clearly showed the way for Trumpf to win and he seized the opportunity while she did just the opposite. What more could she do to piss off Bernie's following than some of the bad decisions she made right out of the box. Her choice for VP was the start. She needed a progressive from the mid-west on the ticket, instead, she chose another Corp. Wall st. friendly southerner in Kaine. Then she simply ignored Bernie even dissed him at the convention. The worst mistake was her belief that women would vote for her just because and they didn't. The bottom line though was she just wasn't a very convincing candidate in a change yr. and Obama had managed by this year to have totally alienated much of the Midwest with his awful Healthcare policy that divided the middle class and the poor into feuding groups. The white middle class felt it was being asked to shoulder the poor while the wealthy escaped the burden. It's funny now to watch Trumpf essentially creating around himself America's first Gov't directly run by Oligarchs themselves, not their cronies and employees. So much for helping the white working and middle classes. This group's policy will be to go after what's left of the Social safety net that many of these people and their families rely on. They won't care though as long as they see the food and medicine being taken out of the mouths of the people they hate. It's an ugly irony that by electing this guy and his thugs they will be the first to fall victim to their own hatreds. Maybe it's fitting in a kind of way, there should be a price paid for such cruelty.
Nicely said. I can't add much, but do keep in mind that Clinton won the popular vote by close to 3 million people, the second highest vote total yet for a president, Obama was #1. Also she lost by all of 70,000 votes across three states. That's peanuts.
