Glynn Kalara said...: Proving that even Liberals are just as trapped by the Fossil carbon barons as Conservatives, especially in places where the whole economy rests on this crap. Canada, US, Russia, the Middle east and other regions are in this bind. At the same moment in time, the Earth is now rapidly reacting to the over 400 ppm of CO2 and other GHGs that are being added to the air at an increasing rate. This is NOT going to work without some way to throttle back the waste gases and even start to remove them ASAP. It's now or never the longer we wait the worse the results are going to be when we finally grudgingly act, by then it might be too little too late anyway. The reason for this is that the planet system itself has built-in tipping pts. that once transgressed cause a natural cascade of even more carbon releases from melting permafrost soils to frozen methane clathrates on the shallow sea bottoms as the water warms.
This has happened before without human intervention. We, however, are now the cause.; 11:01 AM
Jim Sande said...: I thought the young lawyer guy had good information and he was practically jumping out of his skin with worry about the CO2. Imagine if Trump wins! Trump will be the end of the USA as an already shaky democracy and Trump will be pivotal as a global warming denier who obstructs changes to clean energy and carbon capture at this critical juncture in time no less.
