The Market On Tuesday

Good morning. It is 66 degrees and completely overcast here in the Upper Hudson Valley, the forecast predicts a cloudy day with temperatures in the low 80s this afternoon. So what in the heck is going on with this election. As I usually do to relieve any sense of anxiety, I check out 538, Clinton with a 72% chance of winning, The New York Times, Clinton with an 86% chance of winning, and The Princeton Election Consortium, Clinton with a 95% chance of winning. And I feel relieved. Then I go on CNN and Trump is allegedly winning. So here are the possibilities as far as I can see:
  1. 538, NYT, and Princeton are correct.
  2. 538, NYT, and Princeton are FOS. (seems highly unlikely but let's say it's a possibility)
  3. CNN is correct and everyone else is wrong.
  4. CNN likes to put a lot of b.s. on it's sight because somehow or other the MSM wants a tight race because it helps their bottom line. (seems like a strong likelihood)
  5. Is whatever I missed, but I do know that the MSM is making dough on Trump and it's in their greedy little get mine first interests and let's keep the gravy train going to pump Trump.

At 8:15 a.m. ET futures are slightly higher and the price of oil per barrel is up. The market is poised to open slightly higher.

Notice the Bayer - Monsanto possible deal. Enough said there. Also notice that oil has a bounce going on, based on an alleged Russian Saudi deal on capping oil output. I don't think it's real, I think oil fades tomorrow.

CNN: Stocks: 5 things to know before the open by Alanna Petroff
Shares in Monsanto (MON) are set to surge at the open after Germany's Bayer (BAYRY) sweetened its bid to buy the world's largest seed seller.

Bayer said it is now willing to pay $127.50 per Monsanto share, about $20 above Friday's closing price.
