The Market On Friday

Good morning. It is 66 degrees and partly cloudy here in the Upper Hudson Valley, the forecast predicts a partly cloudy day with temperatures in the high 70s this afternoon. I do not like reading that the Clinton campaign believes it has the election won. This is fool's gold. Do not express overconfidence like this, instead act as if you are fighting for your life. Don't be stupid, overconfidence is how it falls to crap and regardless of any Clinton shortcomings, the country cannot possibly afford to spend a minimum of four years with Trump.

At 9:00 a.m. ET futures are modestly higher and the price of oil per barrel is up. The market is poised to open modestly higher.

The monthly jobs report for the month of August just came in with a weaker than expected number of 151,000 new jobs added in the month. No doubt the number will be used as a political football over the next few days. It's the weekend!
