The Market Is Closed On Labor Day

Good morning. It is 54 degrees and sunny here in the Upper Hudson Valley, the forecast predicts a partly cloudy day with temperatures in the low 80s this afternoon. I hope you are enjoying your extended holiday weekend. It's Labor Day and that means, according to the prognosticators and American history, that the Presidential campaign cycle is kicking into high gear and the final leg of this miserable particularly wretched journey. It can't end soon enough. Later this month we get to witness what will no doubt be the ugliest Presidential debate in American history as Mr. Trump goes about the cringing feat of throwing out any series of words that pops into his craven misguided aware-free and thoughtless mind. We all know it, and we all wish it were a dream. But it's not a dream, it's our painful reality and the fault for this pain lies directly on the smarmy racist nose of the GOP itself. The party has spent decades cultivating a vast background of racist know nothings and this has become that fact free body's big year. In a word, it's despicable. America is at a political and social low point.

Wall Street is closed on Labor Day and reopens tomorrow. Looks like the globes low oil prices, caused mostly by the Saudi's overproducing for two solid years, are starting to see some changes. The Saudis and Russians are allegedly beginning to work on a deal for oil market stability. That news alone has sent oil prices higher. Now just imagine what happens if they reach a concrete deal, the cheap gas of the last few years will quickly be a thing of the past. I like this possibility as I am seeing more and more huge gas guzzling SUVs, the type that look like huge sneakers, all over the place. We want efficient, small cars and electric cars ASAP. Enough of this nonsense America, enough is enough.
