ISIS wants the opposite though and I'm afraid is preparing this coming year to cast it's vote in bombs and bullets. Sadly, the result will be a Presidential campaign waged in in precisely the kind of situation both ISIS and the Right wing of American politics wants. Terrorism will be front and center like it was in fall 2004, when we all remember the infamous Bin Laden video tape being released the weekend before the election. The terrorists know just as Bin Laden knew that the only people on Earth capable of bringing our society to its knees is us. They also know that is precisely the goal of the GOP and its Corp. allies. What they desperately do not want is a debate about income inequality and the economy. Sorry Bernie , but they know and we know the Reptilian brain ( emotion based , fear and retribution and revenge) is much mightier then the pre-frontal lobe ( intellect and reason.) So, if Hillary is to win she'll need to tack hard right on Defense and Bernie simply can't do that as well. Sad, isn't it? Bernie's platform is based on keeping the voters focused on the future and in particular their families economic future. That debate is over as of last week if the GOP and Hillary ( the 3rd way Dems. ) can do anything about it. Which is plenty. It's going to be terrorism 24/7 from now on and the media will willingly help out. I'm sure ISIL will do it's part as well.

I think Hillary has it sowed up now especially given the metrics I read about on 538. She is moving hard right now to wrap it up. Hillary will have no problem as a hard military, warring president. Bernie has helped in that he has made more people aware of the problems. America moves slowly and right now as you say it is very afraid, afraid of the wrong things but when has that mattered.
