The right has very effectively eroded the public's understanding of this term to the pt. where it's become toxic in most people's minds. This allows people to vote against their own self interest over and over again and put people into office that have no intention of doing anything for them or their families. The Gov't is now largely in the hands of the later group and will stay that way if they can anything about it and they do plenty. They drive the meme home over and over and after all, if you hear it in the media, it must be true. The right relies on a gullible and fearful public, that's their bread and butter.; 9:21 AM
