This Happy Halloween Old House
Its 4pm and the little kids will be knocking on the door soon.
I just started ripping the bathroom apart. I realized why rich people have so many bathrooms. Its so they can keep one or two in a constant state of remodeling and still have three or four left to do their business.
This thing hasn't been touched since roughly 1955 or so. The toilet looks like it was one of the originals ever designed. It must use about 30 gallons of water per flush. Talk about a retentive society.
Turns out the tiling on the wall is plastic. Man is it ugly. Its almost so ugly it looks cool. Its a fleshly colored swirl pattern applied with the world's most toxic glue. That along with the dotted wallpaper and the brown linoleum makes for one elegant monster.
Well its coming down. Its about 1/3 demolished. Time to pick out tile.

Forbidden planet was on this evening! I love this movie it has some of the funniest one liners and scenes. My fav is when Walter Pidgeon ( the mad scientist) as he lays dying has the Capt. of the Star Cruiser ( so 50's a term) to flip a switch and when a plunger pops up tells him to push it down. So like a 50's character the capt. does this without even asking why? Of course the scientists's next command is you'd better get 100 mil. miles away in 24 hrs. because you just blew up the planet dude. Did the scientist bother to even ask if they could take off in 20 mins. and what happened to the monster form the ID that was 5 mins before ready to kill them all? Oh and if the monster is gone and the scientist is dying and with him dies his alter ego the monster why all the rush to destroy Altair 4 ( another great 50's name sounds like a new Ford or Chevy model). I can see the adds for it now BUY the new ALTAIR 4 today and get a CHEV RO LAY! LOL!! I loved that movie!
Its been a while since I've seen that one. The monster from the Id, it all goes back. It used to scare the shit out of me as a kid. I should watch it again to shed some lingering fear lol.
I think Leslie Nielson was in that one.
