Its Back

The public option is back on the proverbial table.

The excerpted McClatchy article below does not get into the details of what is in the "option." Instead the body of the article is directed towards the possibility of it actually getting passed.

Right now they are a few floors short of the top floor.

Our job is to figure out what is in the bill itself and how it might positively affect the miserable state of affairs called American health care. Clearly we can't assume that this is meaningful policy.

McClatchy: Reid includes public option in latest health care bill
...states could choose not to participate in the so-called "public option."

...may not win enough votes to break Congress' deadlock...

...estimated that there are at least 52 Senate votes for a strong public option.

Not quite back. The versions of the option being considered have a lot to be desired. Schumers "levelplaying field" ver. the Opt. out ver. and the trigger ver. are all on the table yet. Plus, all the Senate vers. don't even kick in till 2013 ( might as well be 3013) cause the chances of it ever happening in 2013 are next to nil. So, let's not get excited yet. Over in the House things are a bit better. At least House Speaker Nancy P. and the Progressives have a few REAL bills that don't kick in in the next decade and they are much more Medicare like then the Senate bills. Schumers level playing field bill is especially stupid on that score. NY Sen.Chuckie Schumer likes to masqurade around DC as a proponent of the PO but in reality his bill would create a toothless weak PO that would be absolutely NO threat at all to the Health Ins. mafia that he takes huge sums from. Politicans like slick Chuckie are what give an already slippery job a bad name.

Can we assume that Schumer is on the take from health care.

He would be the perfect fit - smart, good talker, liberal-ish record, liberal-ish state rep. If the Republicans can't get the job done then go to plan B.

That's exactly what Schumer is PLAN B. The Health Mafia has bought into players in depth, they have enough of all of our $$ to play this game deep. The rest of us only have slime balls like Schumer and he's already theirs. It will be a minor miracle if we get anything worth having from this Congress. the Dems. are IMHO fatally compromised on this issue and every other major issue. So much for Change we can Believe in.
