The Market On Monday

Many companies and banks will be reporting in the upcoming week. None of the news is expected to be good.

Investors and Wall Street seem to be less shaken and rattled by the onslaught of bad news. Financiers are adjusting to the recession's onslaught and seem to be taking a long view anticipating an economic correction in a year.

The S&P was at a high of around 1500+ in October of 2007, while it closed on Friday at 890. How we daydream about a return to the good old days.

Reuters: Stock futures signal mixed open
Last week, Alcoa said it would slash more than 15,000 jobs, halve capital spending and sell four businesses as it reduces aluminum production in the face of the global economic downturn.
