Bank Failures

There were 6 bank failures in January. Here are the three latest. The failures came about from losses on real estate loans.

Bloomberg: Florida, Maryland, Utah Banks Shut as Financial Crisis Deepens
Ocala National Bank in Florida and Suburban Federal Savings Bank of Crofton, Maryland, were shut by federal regulators...

MagnetBank of Salt Lake City was seized by the Utah Department of Financial Institutions.

I think we'll be seeing many more as the yr. progresses. Thank God for FDR and FDIC Ins. or we'd be back in the early 30's already with massive bank runs etc.

Could you imagine bank run and soup lines. We will need some food banks. Starving is no fun and it does not need to happen.

People are killing themselves instead of watching themselves descend into what they imagine is poverty. I have been up and down so many times in my life I know things eventually turn around. You need to find what comfort in these times u can.
